This nice cottage is located near the gulf of Riga in a the small village of Tuuja - half-way between Riga and the Estonian border, only 70 km from Riga. The village is located approximately 4 km from Via Baltica road (main road through the Baltic States down to Germany). Half of the cottage is available with a private entrance for tourists. In the other half of the cottage lives the friendly English-speaking owner.
The cottage is very charming with oldtimer equipment used for decoration, like a sewing–machine, military items and farming items. This gives to the cottage a special aura. There are available 3 bedrooms with modern furniture. There can come up to 11 persons at the same time. Inside the cottage there is a sauna. In summer-time it is possible to use the small outside swimming pool for a taking a cooling dip. When the weather is nice you can enjoy a picnic or have a barbeque in the garden. You may park your car inside the fence surrounding the house.
A quite peaceful and far-stretching white beach is located only 200 m from the cottage. A few kilometers to the north there is a rocky sea shore and further away there are unique red sandstone cliffs – a 200 meter long and 4 meter high sandstone outcrop scoured by a series of grottos and caves. This formation i unique in Europe. To the south and approximately 5 kilometer from the house, there is Baron von Munchhausen’s museum and forest trail – 5,3 km long aspen-wood plank-way. The forest trail includes 32 various stop-by sites. There is a series of figures –wild animals and all characters of the famous stories told by Munchhausen.
