A very charming, well planned and cosy cottage 500 meters from a beautiful lake and 20 minutes by car from Pärnu, Estonia’s summer capital. This cottage is ideal for fishing or for the family who wants to enjoy an undisturbed country retreat. The charm comes for free with the house and with it you get a certain relaxing simplicity – like mattresses on the floor on the loft, but still in a modern cottage.
The cottage is situated right outside the small village of Tohela. The plot of land is large and on enough distance from neighbours. It is also hidden from view behind trees. The cottage is 60 m2, out of which 10 is the loft. In the loft, 3 grown-ups sleep comfortably on mattresses and in the livingroom is a sofa/bed. Possibly an additional person could sleep in the anteroom of the detached sauna house, but only if expectations on comfort are not too high.
You can swim in the lake 500 meters from the cottage, but the white beach in Matsi is a better choice for children. This beach is some 15 minutes by car. On approximately the same distance but in the direction of Pärnu you find the popular Valgeranna beach. In Pärnu you find lots of amusement, an indoor water park and all the service you could need.
You can play golf next to the beach in Audru, some 15 minutes away, by car. There are many historical sights, for instance Tohela Manor. For those interested in flora and fauna the area is also rich on discoveries – for instance the protected glades with up to 74 species per square meter, nature reserves and the national park Matsalu just 20-30 minutes drive away. Matsalu is famous among bird-watchers. The harbour in Virtsu is also just 20-30 minutes away, the ferry from Virtsu takes you to the islands of Muhu and Saaremaa in half an hour.
NB! Fishing requires a permit, which is easy to obtain.
