Right by the sea, with a splendid view! A charming cottage with two floors and the sea right in front of it. It is even possible to rent different types of boats – for fishing or for sailing. And dinner can be ordered and lots of activities are organised just a few hundred meters from the house for those who want an active vacation. Those who prefer peace and quiet will find it by the house. The cottage is also protected from sea breezes as it is situated by a bay – on a peninsula. To the south of the bay, the open sea can be seen. Swimming is a possibility just 5 meters from the house. The house is situated in Varbla, half-way between Pärnu and Haapsalu. Virtsu harbour with ferries to Saaremaa is just some 25 kilometers away. Pärnu is approximately 55 kilometer, just over half an hour by car. Tallinn is a bit further, some 1,5 hours.
The cottage is very pleasant in simple style and sauna in the house, but there is outdoors privy instead of WC. The sauna is heated with firewood and the privy is as new, 30 meters from the cottage, in the woods. There are a couple of neighbouring houses, but they are usually empty. On the ground floor there is an all-purpose room with dining table, two sofa-beds and direct exit to the terrace by the sea. On the second floor there is a hall with two single beds. Behind the hall is the master bedroom with view of the bay. There’s no door, just a curtain between the hall and the master bedroom. The stairs to the second floor are steep but a handrail and child gate will be added before summer 2006.
On the peninsula, some 5 minutes walk away, there is the main building of a small recreational center. The advantage of this is that you have good service nearby. You can order food, buy basic foodstuff and supplies, participate in games and fun and rent sporting equipment or participate in boating trips. NB! The services mentioned here may not be available in autumn, winter, spring. But at the cottage you will be left alone.
There are many fine sights nearby, several mansions and a lot for those interested in nature, for instance Matsalu national park, famous for it’s birdlife. But most of all, you get the sea, with a wonderful sunset behind the low peninsula on the opposite side of the bay.
