A Baltic Sea island all to yourselves! Unique opportunity. Now here is your chance to have a Baltic sea island all to yourselves. And a really beautiful island it is. South of Estonia’s largest island of Saaremaa is a smaller island called Abruka, just west of Abruka is Vahase island where we offer you a chance to stay in the most wonderful place. Wonderful typical accommodation with all you need need and modern comforts. When you arrive you will be brought by boat straight from Saaremaa island.

PRICE: 1000 EEK/person/night (64 EUR/person/night). Minimum 4 people, minimum 3 nights. Free choice of days when open. Open June-October. 25% discount September-October.

Accommodation
There are 4 houses on the island and depending on how many you are you may choose where you prefer to sleep. For a few people the comfort is rather high, some of the other sleepingplaces are somewhat more of the basic kind. We will send only one company of people to the island at the time even if you don’t need all the beds. The houses are: summer cottage, sauna house, small summer cottage and the old farmstead. No more than 8 people can stay here at one time.

In the yard there is a outdoor „summer kitchen“ for preparing food and grilling. There is also a large table with benches. There is also a nice privy outdoors. The two-storey sauna house and summer cottage have larg terraces. On the ground floors of both houses are kitchens-living-rooms. For cooking there are gas cookers. The fridge also run on gas. One the second floors are bed-rooms and both houses have fireplaces. The summer cottage has shower, wc and tap water. The sauna house has wc and sauna, but you must yourself fetch water in bucket from the well. You can also sleep in the small summer cottage, there are 4 beds. NB! There is only 12V electricity on the island. There is TV and radio working on 12V, but make sure your phone is charged before you come – there is mobile phone coverage.

Vahase Island
Vahase island is some 65,5 hectares large and west of it is the so called Sõrve sea with sands where haddock is caught. And on the island itself you find Europe’s most northern hawthorn forest. In good weather you reach Vahase island wading through the shallow waters from Abruka island (which in turn you reach by boat from Saaremaa). Vahase island is 300 meters wide and all around it is the sea and pebble beach. Standing among the junipers you will be filled with the sensation of the uniqueness of the island, the fresh sea air and virgin nature. The beach at Vahase island is full of pebbles, but still suitable for swimming.

Practical Information
And the owner will bring you to and from Vahase in his own large boat, approximately 30 minutes ride. The cottage owner will leave a rowing boat at your disposal, for visiting Abruka island or fishing in the sea. You can safely leave your car in the Roomasaare harbour, near Kuressaare on Saaremaa. Please prepare a bit for your stay, you should for instance bring all the food you need. But once you are here you will find all the equipment you need.

Visiting this island is a wonderful experience, you will mainly be the only people on the island, there are no other houses on it (except the one where your host lives and will sometimes stay). Visiting the island is allowed for anyone, but few people bother, since they don’t know about the island. This island is enchanting and anyone with a love of unspoilt nature will get a real and unforgettable exiperience.
