If you dream of enjoying the sunset while sipping your evening cup of tea on a balcony surrounded by a forest, watching the sun disappearing slowly behind the trees and the night surrounding everything, then this cosy cottage will be your best choice. The house is only 20 km away from the Old town Riga and it was built in 2006.
This is also an excellent choice for the nature lovers. The owners will be happy to rent you a bicycle so you can enjoy the countryside more. Since the house has a sauna also, the sauna-lovers won't feel left out (the price of sauna is inclusive of the rent).
The ground floor of the building includes an entrance hall, a kitchenette, a WC and the sauna. The first floor contains bedrooms and a fireplace, which will make your stay comfy and cosy when it’s grey outside, as well as the balcony, covered by a roof. Underneath the balcony there is a terrace in front of the house.
The cottage is located in a quiet spot surrounded by birch trees and there are only a few other houses nearby. The proprietors’ home is 40 km away from the cottage.
Those who prefer a more active way to spend their spare time will find a trampoline, basketball (street ball) field and a football pitch. In the adjacent forest there are nice paths for walking. For example, you can check out the small lake nearby. The seaside (sand beaches) is about 15 km away if you cycle through the forest paths or about 20 km away by car on the main road. If you fancy a swim but don’t feel like going that far, there is a lake only 1.5 km away. It’s called Baltezers and it provides the main supply of drinking water for a part of Riga. About 3 km away from the cottage there is a boat base where you can rent a boat for fishing in the lake or simply to enjoy a boat ride on the lake.
About 35 km north from the cottage on the Via Baltic road, in Dunte, there is a Minhauzen’s museum, which has also a specially made walk path, which is 4.5 km long and depicts various cheerful prototypes from the Minhauzen’s stories. About 45 km away from the cottage lays Sigulda. The town and its surroundings is, without doubt, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latvia.
